IECO Newsletter December 2022
IECO Newsletter │ 16 December 2022
Dear researchers, supporters and friends of the IECO Network,
As we are closing this year, we would like to reach out to you once more and say thank you to all active researchers, students and supporters of IECO. Your enthusiasm resulted in joint research and successful publications, joint conferences and events, student and staff exchanges, and joint teaching activities in the course of this year. And it was finally possible to meet again in person: First at the IECO Summer School in Valdivia and then during a workshop at KIT in October. The in-person meetings showed various great ideas for Chilean-German activities within the IECO network.
One fantastic outcome of the year was the renewed funding approval of a Summer School by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). After the success of the first Summer School in March 2022, we are happy to repeat this event next year. This time, the IECO Summer School host will be Universidad de Concepción in Chile. The exact time and further Info will follow soon.
In this edition, we present Andrea Pino who is a co-coordinator at the Universidad Austral de Chile and who was the main organizer of the first Summer School. She’s been an active researcher within the IECO Network since the beginning of the project. There is also news from Valentin Goldberg and some parting words by Danny Tröger who had taken over the coordinator role during the last months. So don’t miss the News section below and the updated list of open calls at the bottom.
We wish you and your families a happy holiday and a good start to the New Year!
