IECO Newsletter July 2022

Dear researchers, supporters and friends of the IECO Network,

We’d like to start with some good news: Dr. Ana Lucia Prieto will be Topic Speaker from Universidad de Chile for Topic 1. She was at KIT in May and June and July to work with Dr. Witold Poganietz at the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS). During the next steering committee meeting her role will have to be officially confirmed. Ana has been collaborating within IECO for quite a while and there was a short portrait of her in the IECO Newsletter of July 2021.

In this edition we have interviewed Dr. Florencia Saravia from KIT, who has already collaborated within IECO. Florencia works at the Water Chemistry and Water Technology Area of KIT’s Engler-Bunte-Institute. She would like to collaborate with Chile on green hydrogen production issues, the generation and treatment of wastewater generated during the production process.

For German speakers: GATE Germany (at DAAD) interviewed the IECO director Andreas Braun to find out about academic cooperation potential with Chile and about IECO: GATE Länderprofil Chile.

As usual, you will find an updated listing of open calls in this newsletter. We hope you enjoy this edition and we wish everyone a nice summer break (in Germany) and a nice winter break (in Chile).

Also, UACh has produced a comprehensive summery video of the Summer School, check it out here if your lunch break is taking longer as usual (approx. 11 minutes!).
